Marjorie Fern Fisher, 96, of Riley, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Springhill Village. She was born on April 10, 1919, in Vigo County, to the late LeRoy A. and Florence (Leggett) Bratt. She married John F. Fisher and he preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Myrna Bratt Brazzell, her daughter-in-law, Shiela Fisher, and a step-granddaughter, Michelle Barnett (Dennis).
Marjorie is survived by her son, John Bruce Fisher of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Tracey Symon of Terre Haute, Terri Willingham (Howard) of Spring, TX, John David Fisher (Jackie) of Knightsville, and Rob Valentic (Marie) of Terre Haute; and many great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was a lifetime genealogy buff. She used her skills to put together a book, “Looking Back Through the Years,” about the Riley community. She graduated from Riley High School in 1936. Marjorie was a fantastic mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Private entombment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories.
