Joyce Mae Bailey

She was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School class of 1948. Joyce retired from JC Penney with 31 years of service.

Joyce was very proud that she attained her pilot's license and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Gideons Auxiliary and the El-Shaddai Emmaus Community. She loved her cats and liked to sew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John A. Bailey, Sr.; a daughter, Nancy Kay Johnson; three sisters, Sue Reel, Shirley Clawson and Anita Oswald.

Surviving are a daughter, J. Anna Whitman; two sons, John A. (Sherry) Bailey Jr. and Doug (Mitzi) Bailey; a son-in-law, Don Johnson; a brother, Jerry Reel; grandchildren, Amy Sparks, Paul Cornwell, Erin Edington, Andrea Johnson, Marie Knifley, and Jerry McKinney; thirteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 1 PM at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, Pastor Larry Branham officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until time of services at the funeral home interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
