Jim was born on July 7, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia. His family was his first priority and he loved them very much. Jim was a hard worker and in his younger years enjoyed spending time outdoors camping or on the boat. He was a people person who put others before himself, and never underestimated the power of making someone smile. He lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include Norma Williams, to whom he was married to for 38 years; three sons, James Ronald Williams, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Fernandina, FL., Charles Dennison Williams and his wife Brenda of Germantown, TN. And William Steve Williams and his wife Shirley of Terre Haute; one step-daughter, Debbie Garvey of Terre Haute. Jim was the proud and loving grandfather to seven grandchildren, Jim Johnson of Terre Haute, Shannon Confiliano and her husband Dan of Joliet, IL., Angi Morris and her husband Mason of Gardner, IL. Christy Hullett and her husband Scott of Gastonia, NC., Devon Andamson and her husband Darran of Terre Haute, Christopher Williams of Cordova, TN. And Adam Williams of Germantown, TN. Also surviving are thirteen great grandchildren and numerous, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Maple Ave. United Methodist Church, 1203 Maple Ave. in Terre Haute on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Leukemia Foundation.
