Frances Carol Wheeler

Frances Carol Wheeler, 74, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017. She was born on March 25, 1943, in Terre Haute, to Harry Schoffstall and Freda Sparks. Frances was raised by her adoptive father, Fred Fox and Grover Cordell.

Frances was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, and was of the Catholic Faith.

Her parents; and her husband, Ernest Ray Wheeler; and her longtime companion, Billy Grubbs preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Jonathan Wheeler, and Lisa (Ted) Fisher, all of Terre Haute; two grandchildren, Amanda Trueblood and Tyler Trueblood; siblings, Richard Lee Schoffstall, Allen Dale Schoffstall, Robert Eugene Schoffstall, Harry Leroy Schoffstall, Randy Thomas Schoffstall, Stephen Michael Schoffstall, Mellanie Luther and James Cordell; and many extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of services.

A loving mother and grandmother, Frances also loved to sing to her animals.
