Erin Adelle Marie Galloway, 32, of Terre Haute, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Union Hospital. Erin was born on February 17, 1983 in Terre Haute, the youngest child of Winifred Pauline Smith Galloway and Charles Gordon Galloway.
Erin was always quick with a laugh and the sun always shone on her smile. She was a champion speed skater for the Wigwam for many years along with her niece, Brandygail. She loved being a full-time mommy to her kids, being outdoors, swimming, fishing, and hiking the trails at Turkey Run State Park. She also loved crazy daisies and everything that sparkled. She was a member of Cross Tabernacle Church. She graduated from McClain High School in 2003.
Erin is survived by her parents, Winifred Pauline Smith Galloway and her partner Gene of Terre Haute and Charles Gordon Galloway of Clarksville, IL; sisters, Bonnie Fuelle and husband Dan and Elizabeth Galloway, both of Terre Haute; her children, Elise Iocoangeli, Xoey Washington, Savanna Washington, and Tiernan Fiddler, all of Terre Haute; aunts, Cindy Yocum, Kristi (Otis) Williams of Terre Haute, Janine Galloway of Rockville and Janice (Fred) Craft of Dana; uncles, Jim Smith, David (Janine) Smith of Terre Haute, David Galloway of Brownsburg, and Dale Lemmons of Fontanet; grandmother, Martha Galloway of Rockville; nieces, Brandygail Elmore-Mattox and Adrianna Smith of Terre Haute; nephews, Danny J. Smith Jr. and Matthew Facemyer of Terre Haute. She was a great-aunt to Jude, Silas, and Milena Mattox all of Terre Haute. Survivors also include cousins, Beverly French, Jimmy Smith, Chasity Aguilar, Ridge Smith, Amy Tapy, Dakota Williams, Cinthia Williams, Trey Williams, all of Terre Haute, Freddie Craft, Robyn Summerville, and Brent Summerville, all of Dana, Marantha Galloway of Rockville, Doug Galloway and Kyle Galloway of Brownsburg, Brent Oaks of Rossville, IN, and Denice Benefiel of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Michelle Galloway, a nephew, Brandon Levi Thomas Elmore, maternal grandparents Howard David Smith Sr. and Winifred Pauline Sands Smith, paternal grandparents, Charles Elmo Galloway and Maxine Boatman Lemmons; Steven Oaks and Neal Oaks.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 at Mattox Wood Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. Monday until time of services. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23 at the funeral home with Pastor Ray Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
