Doris E. Lawson Adams, 95, of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Meadows Manor East after a brief illness. She was born on July 30, 1925, in Rockville, Indiana to Thomas Alvin Lawson and Ruth Sheffield Lawson.
Doris is survived by her sister, Betty Rorer; her son, Jim Adams and wife Marsha; grandson, Robert Adams; granddaughter, Kristyn Adams Adkins and husband Jayson; three great-grandchildren, Bryson Adkins, Collins Adams, and Kenzie Adkins; two nieces, five nephews, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Joseph “Pants” Adams; a son, Jerry Wayne Adams; a sister, Mildred “Jean” Lawson; and brothers, Boyd, Lloyd “Sam”, James “Jim”, and John “Jack” Lawson.
Doris was raised on a farm near Bloomingdale. She was a 1944 graduate of Bloomingdale High School and a 1947 graduate of the Union Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed spending time fishing with Joseph. She also cherished the time she spent with her family.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 29 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Doris will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
