Donald Lee Sturm

Don was born on November 25, 1946 in Terre Haute, IN to Ernie and Beverly (Houpt) Sturm. He was retired from Destec Engineering as a operating room engineer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carla Sturm; 3 daughters: Lori Fugate (Rick), Kara Sturm, Shari Elder (David); 7 grandchildren: Tiffany Fields (Teddie), John Michael Fugate (Paige), Rebekah Cameron (Casey), Sabrena Hoggatt (Kenny), Harold Cooper Jr., Tristan Elder, and Taelyn Elder; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Susie McNeely (Fred); brother, Mike Sturm (Jeanie); and his beloved dog, Bosco.

Don had a passion for baseball and coaching softball. He enjoyed doing genealogy research, gardening, and was known for pranking his friends and family. Most of all, he cherished his time with his wife, daughters, and all of his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Taylor Elder; and his sister, Rita Spittler.

Cremation has been chosen. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 4-6pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to The Terre Haute North Little League at PO Box 5143, Terre Haute, IN, 47805 and Gentiva Hospice at 4122 S 7th Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47802, in honor of Don.
