Deborah A. Snyder peacefully passed away on November 18, 2023, at the age of 63 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born on May 16, 1960, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Judith and Austin Kuhar. Debbie was the beloved wife of the late George Snyder, married 36 years, widowed for 2. Debbie was a cherished matriarch, known for her joyful spirit, sharp intelligence, and warm presence. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, hosting gatherings both large and small at The Lakehouse. Her guidance and support were sought after by many, and her generosity will forever be treasured.
Debbie enjoyed the beauty of Cape Coral and Key West Florida, where she enjoyed vacationing. And let's not forget her love for Jimmy Buffett's tunes – she was the ultimate "Parrothead"! Debbie's incredible talent for baking was especially evident during the holiday season, her Christmas cookies were like little bites of heaven. She also had a knack for hitting the jackpot at the casinos – lady luck was always on her side!
Debbie's legacy will be carried on by her loving daughter, Kristin Snyder Rager, her son-in-law Luke Rager, and cherished grandson Rhys George Rager. She is also survived by her younger sisters, Denise Schueneman and Donna Kuhar, as well as her nieces and nephews DJ Snyder, Danielle Schueneman, Dustin Snyder, Kelsey Slaughter (Snyder), Kelly Kuhar, and David Kuhar. She was preceded in death by her parents Austin and Judith Kuhar, spouse George Snyder, and brothers Donald Kuhar and David Kuhar.
Debbie graduated from Lakewood High School and went on to pursue higher education at William Woods University. She later became the proud owner of First Class Limousine of Illiana, where she excelled in providing a first-rate service to her clients.
In her leisure time, Debbie found joy in reading, cooking, and boating. Puzzles were her secret weapon to keep her mind sharp. Game nights were a delight for her, especially when playing Monopoly Deal or 5 Crowns with her loved ones. A lifelong football fan, Debbie cheered for both the Colts and the Browns, proving that she had a heart divided by the goalposts.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN, on Saturday, November 25th. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm, followed by services at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
The compassionate staff at Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Debbie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, warmth, and generosity will forever be remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.
