Christopher S. Brooks, age 49 of Terre Haute, passed away in Union Hospital on May 4, 2021. He was born on June 26, 1971 to William “Bill” and Roberta Brooks. He was a 1989 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School, and 2019 graduate from Indiana State University. Chris is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kristina “Kris” Brooks, 4 children: Charles “C.J.” and his fiancée Megan Dressler, Christopher “Stephen”, Mary, and Matthew Brooks, parents, brother William “Billy” Brooks and his wife Stephanie, sister Theresa Brooks, mother-in-law Sue Barnhart, and several cousins, aunts, uncles, and other extended family members.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Mary Keller and Barbara Brooks, and his father-in-law Robert Barnhart.
Chris was an employee at Terre Haute North Vigo High School, and an active member in the Terre Haute bowling community. Chris was a loveable, loving person who never had a complaint and tried to see the light in every situation. His presence was always uplifting, and he was able to personally touch those around him with a simple joke or lighthearted comment. Chris loved playing softball in his younger years, bowling, and supporting his family in any way possible.
For those whose lives were touched by Chris, you are invited to join the family in reminiscing, grieving, and celebrating Chris’s life on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1 PM at Mattox - Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5 - 8 PM and Saturday from 11 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
