Winston Gail Beam, age 71 of Rogers, TX, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence in Rogers. His services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home by Pastor Jason Norton.
Winston was born November 15, 1947 in Brady, TX to Chester and Oleta Beam. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1966, he went on to get his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1971 from Texas A&M University. While attending A&M he played nose-guard for the “Fighting Aggies”, became a Cotton Bowl Champion in 1968 and was awarded the distinguished Aggie Heart Award in 1970. “He Played to Win”.
Winston is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue Beam, his sons Kevin Beam and wife Heather, Toby Wilson and wife Rhonda, daughters Jamie Kirk and husband Jim, Lee Durrett and husband Lee, Michelle Champion, Callie Pettyjohn and husband Bill, 18 grandchildren, brothers Jesse McCoy, Ken Beam, Chester Beam, Lester Beam, Chris Beam, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Oleta Beam.
Winston had a successful career as a construction superintendent, he worked hard to provide for his family. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping, raising cattle, as well as pheasants. He loved sharing his hobbies with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, and may he rest in peace.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
