William Perry (Bill) Cloud passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the age of 95. He was born in Temple on November 19, 1929, to Thomas Jefferson and Rebe Ogden Cloud.
Bill graduated from Temple High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He was happily married to Betty Jean Lengefeld for 66 years. Bill also served a brief stint in the United States Army.
Bill was passionate about his family, friends, cutting horses, cattle, and the construction industry. His career with Cloud Construction Co., Inc. spanned over 50 years, and he was instrumental in constructing many landmark buildings in Temple and Central Texas.
Bill was also very active in community service, lending his talents to many organizations. He raised money for the Temple United Fund and served as a member of the Temple City Commission. Bill was president of the Central Texas Ft. Hood Chapter of Association of United States Army and served on the Commanding General’s Civilian Advisory Committee for five commanding generals at Ft. Hood. In addition, Bill served as president of several organizations including the Bell County Junior Fair and Livestock Show, the Temple Chamber of Commerce, the Temple Industrial Foundation, and the Central Texas Cutting Horse Association. He worked as board member of the National Cutting Horse Association, the Scott and White Health Plan, the Temple Economic Development Corporation and the Central Texas Region Scott & White Memorial Hospital Greater Century Campaign.
Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Jean Cloud, parents T.J. and Rebe Cloud, and brother Thomas Maynard Cloud. Survivors include daughters Renee Fuller, Susan Bolton and husband Mancel, and son Perry Cloud and wife Laura; five grandchildren, Mark Fuller and wife Olivia, Katie Moncivais and husband Tony, Kasey Welch and husband Jerod, Will Bolton, and Thomas Cloud and wife Emily; and six great grandchildren Max Moncivais, Amelie Moncivais, Elizabeth Welch, Cooper Welch, Emma Fuller, and Charlotte Cloud.
The Pallbearers are Mark Fuller, Will Bolton, Thomas Cloud, Bruce Walker, Andrew Cloud, John Cloud, Mike Marshall, Tony Moncivais, Jerod Welch, Rex Baugh, and Roy Walker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Temple College Foundation to create a Bill and Betty Jean Cloud Scholarship, 2600 S. South First Street, Temple, TX 76504 Attn: Temple College Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held at Scanio Harper Funeral Home on Friday February 7, 2025, at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life gravesite service for family and friends will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery, Temple, TX. Scanio Harper Funeral Home oversees arrangements.
