Charles Weldon Whitley, age 89, of Temple formerly of Baytown passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Scott and White Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. He was born on October 22, 1925 in Killeen, the son of David and Minnie Whitley. Weldon served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Temple American Legion Post #133, Immanuel Baptist where he was a member of the Sunday School, Choir, Primetime Luncheon, and was known for his delicious Pecan Pie. He is survived by his children; Jennifer Lorraine (Lonnie) Wright of Temple, Charles Russell (Nina Brodsky) Whitley of Austin, Lisa Diane (Bill) Muntz of Temple, Elizabeth Anne Whitley of Temple, and their mother Jewel Forrester Whitley, two step-sons Richard (Suzy) Blystone of Baytown and Rodney (Lydia) Blystone of Baytown, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a sister June Moran of Biloxi, MS. Weldon was preceded in death by his wife Delma Faye Whitley, brothers D.L. and Boyd, and sisters Geraldine, Willie Mae, Marge, and Madie Lea. A time of gathering will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. at Scanio Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, TX 76504. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 2 P.M. at Taylor's Valley Baptist Church 2470 West FM 93 Temple, TX 76502 followed by an interment at Bellwood Memorial Park.
