Chester Wayne Corley was born on January 18, 1952 in Temple, Texas to the late Charlie Jefferson “C.J.” Corley and Dorothy Fay Barganier Corley. Wayne married Deborah Lewis on October 14, 1977 in Temple. Wayne worked for the Temple Police Department as a detective in CID from 1974 – 2000, then as an investigator for the Bell County District Attorney’s office from 2000-2013. He then worked for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department as Lieutenant in CID from 2013-2018. Wayne dearly loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed cruising and gambling. Wayne enjoyed traveling in his RV and taking his wife and dogs camping whenever he could.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Debbie Corley; a son, Matt Corley and wife Regina; a daughter, Megan Slaven and husband Russell; six grandchildren, Madison Corley, Emory Corley, Asher Corley, Jacob Corley, Peyton Slaven and Logan Slaven; a sister, Linda Miller and husband Ernest; a nephew, Chris Miller and wife Tabatha; a great niece, Audrey Miller and a host of loving cousins and friends.
