Our beloved, Vicky Lynn McGee was born to Regina M. McGee and Russell McGee October 29, 1950, in New Rochelle, NY. She graduated from New Rochelle High school and completed a plethora of nursing courses throughout her life.
Vicky was so much to so many people. She was motivational and supportive. Honestly, if your idea made sense she was invested. She was the voice of reason to many. She was optimistic and strong. If you ever called her due to stress her favorite line was, "Just open a window and let it out"
She loved good people, a good time, great food, and a good drink. If you were in company with her long enough, you'd catch her explaining the wonders of vodka and milk, saying it was all you needed to coat your stomach. Shortly after her son moved in with her, she found herself so inspired by his sobriety that she too became sober. Vicky was flashy and loved to dress even when she had nowhere to be. She enjoyed being introduced to new interests and she was very open minded. She once told her son Anthony that she could watch Mike do his boxing shuffle, walk and listen to Sisqo sing all day.
Even as her health was deteriorating, she still found time and energy to show up for her loved ones. She made sure to drive and check on friends while dragging her oxygen tank. She cared all the way to the end. The doctors told her loved ones, she only had 6 months to live, but with the care of her family she lived longer than the doctors expected. They informed her she would never walk again without assistance, never ride in a car unless she was a passenger but despite their doubt, she would walk out the house without her oxygen and cane to go for a ride. She even rode for a 20+ hour trip to Baltimore to surprise her son on his 50th birthday, with energy to spare to dance with her family.
The ride back to Texas she filled with more priceless moments: visiting more family in North Carolina and Atlanta. She even tried new food at "Mr. Everything", maybe the best sub she ever had. This road trip was not without stress. While only 4 hours away, Vicky's tank ran out of oxygen. Despite all attempts of a resolution the only option was to drive and drive fast (100 mph several times). Her response? "Slow down! The fast driving 'gon kill me before anything else does!" She made it home safe though with many new memories to hold on to. She would then share the story to her friends of her near-death experience and would explain that he faith in God kept her alive. She always had faith.
This year she planned to join her son on the road, riding shotgun on his mobile tattoo bus. Her only response was that she needed a Job. From there she was affectionately given the title as his manager. She genuinely supported all her children, accepting them all for who they were. The same for you all. If she was here, would say she, "loves you. ...ever".
As for her, she will FOREVER be loved.
