Terry Adair Benson

Memorial services for Terry A. Benson, 65, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Height Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Koinm and Dr. Tom Henderson officiating. Mr. Benson died Tuesday in a local hospital. Mr. Benson was born Feb. 8, 1947 in Temple to Burnell Benson and LaVelle Wilson Benson. He graduated from Temple High School in 1965. He married Karen Phillips Cooper April 26, 1985. He was the parts manager for Garlyn Shelton Autoplex for thirty years having retired in 2008. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church where he was very active. He volunteered at Churches Touching Lives For Christ. Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his parents and three sons Chris Cooper, Kevin Cooper and Kevin Benson. Memorials may be made to Churches Touching Lives For Christ or to Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Karen Benson of Temple; two sons Scott Benson and Cory Cooper both of Temple; one daughter Kimberly Washington of Temple, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
