Syble Joan Kirkland Cawyer

Mrs. Cawyer passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her home in Eddy.

Joan was born December 16, 1933 to Frank Tillman Kirkland and Bama Lee Parish in Andalusia, Alabama. She worked as a telephone operator in Montgomery, Alabama until she met John Cawyer. They married and moved to Texas. She then went back to work as a telephone operator, where she worked until the office closed.

She was a member of the Troy Church of Christ.

The family would like to thank H.K. Ballard and Loyd Hall for the comfort they gave to our mom. Also, a thank you to the ones from Interim & Hospice who took very good care of our loved one.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, two brothers and two sisters.

She was survived by her children; John P. (Susan) Cawyer, Jr. of Eddy, Kirk Cawyer of Waco, Deborah (Alfern) Gauna of Eddy and Heather (Johnny) Wheeler of Whitney; sister Jean Girdner of Pennsacola, FL; a grandson, Shawn (Charity) Ferguson of Temple; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation was held at 11 am on Friday, November 7th at Troy Church of Christ.
