Ronald Wayne Williford passed from this life on January 1, 2024. He was born on December 27, 1961 to Father Don Woods and Mother Carolyn Ruzicka. He was adopted and loved by James “Papa Willie” Williford. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was married to Debbie Finto for 31 years and they had 3 sons – Jason Williford of Troy, James Williford and wife Davina of Troy and Joshua Williford of Troy. He is survived by his sons and grandchildren Jordan, Sapherina and Everest; brothers Wesley and wife Amber Williford, Cary and wife Misty Williford and Cory Williford; step-brother Keith and step-sisters Nancy and Debbie.
Ronald graduated from Academy High School in 1979. He served active-duty Army from 1980-1984 and then with the National Guard from 1984-1997. In 1996 he started a career as a truck driver with Schneider National where he worked for 20 years. He then continued his career as a truck driver for James Construction where he worked until the time of his death.
Ronald had a love of sports. He played baseball and football in high school. He also participated in the local City adult softball leagues. He continued his involvement in sports as an official, umpiring girls fastpitch, boys baseball and basketball games for a number of years.
Another of Ronald’s passions was camping and fishing. He enjoyed spending his summers with family and friends on annual camping trips. Ronald and his brother Wesley also competed in catfish tournaments, traveling to local lakes and parks.
As we close this chapter of Ronald’s life, we find comfort in knowing that his memory lives on. A memorial service will be held on January 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Country Worship Cowboy Church in Lott, TX.
