Rodney G. Hester

Rodney Gene Hester, 58, of Temple passed away on Sunday August 19th, 2012. He was born on December 12, 1953 in Austin, Texas to James and Virginia Callahan Hester. He graduated from Leander High School in 1972 and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from St. Edwards University. He worked for Texas Instruments for more than 25 years and at the time of his death, he was an IT Application Analyst for Scott and White in Round Rock, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Eddy, Texas. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Brenda; his parents James and Virginia Hester of Cedar Park; daughter Jennifer Edsall and husband Erik of Fort Worth; stepchildren Joshua Adams and wife Lisa of Temple, Angela Dickie and husband Lee of Temple, Wendy Pausewang and husband Michael of Goldthwaite; sister Charlotte Shumaker of Leander; brothers Richard Hester and wife Wanda of Eddy, Dennis Hester and wife Susan of Wautauga, and Robert Hester and wife Karen of Liberty Hill; 13 grandchildren and many wonderful friends. Honoring Rodney as pallbearers are: Richard Hester, Charlotte Shumaker, Robert Hester, Erick Edsall, Garrett Dickie, and Dan Cockrell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation. A man that hath friends must show himself friendly; and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 Services for Rodney G. Hester will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Hester officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
