Richard Wayne Buro, 70 of Temple, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Richard was born on August 31, 1953 in Belton, Texas to Walter T. Buro and Gay Evelyn Scheele Buro. He was a life-long resident of Temple, Texas and alumnus of Temple ISD in the graduating class of 1971. Richard went on to graduate from Baylor University with a BA and Masters in History/Political Science/Education. He returned to Temple ISD as an Educational Diagnostician, Media Center Coordinator, Network Administrator, and, eventually, returned to his true calling as a classroom teacher at Bonham Middle School.
Richard married Rita Lynn Baggett on July 3, 1976. They built their life together eventually welcoming their daughter, Robyn on October 11, 1984. Richard was a life-long member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Temple. He was an avid reader belonging to many reading groups. He was an aviation enthusiast and licensed private pilot at a young age.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Buro and Gay Evelyn Buro. Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Rita Buro and daughter Robyn Buro as well as many cousins and extended family.
A visitation will be held at Scanio Harper Funeral Home on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. and a graveside service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
