Peggy Cole

Peggy Cole, age 97, of Austin formerly of Temple passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at an Austin Care Center. She was born Dec 13th, 1920 in Temple, Texas. The daughter of Thomas and Bessie Caffrey. Mass of Christian Burial for Peggy Cole will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 1018 S. 7th St Temple, Texas 76504 with Rev. Steven Sauser officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. A visitation will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504. Her husband Robert K. “Duke” Cole, Sr. preceded her in death. They were married for 49 years and lived all but one year in Temple, Texas. She moved to Austin five years ago to be close to her children. Peggy loved to dance and did so the majority of her life. She taught many people in Temple and then later their children. She taught all types of dance to all ages for 35 years at her dance studio Peggy Cole School of Dance. She had a passion for cruising and traveled extensively with her husband as well as children and grandchildren. Survivors include her three children, Robert Kenneth “Ron” Cole and his wife Geralyn of Glenmoore, PA, Sylvia Cole and her husband Gary of Austin, TX, and James Cole and his wife Deborah of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Denise Morris of Round Rock, Texas, Brandy LaShawn Cole of Austin, TX, and David Glenn Cole of Richardson, TX as well as nine great and eight great-great grandchildren.
