Services for Peggy Annette Alblinger, 82, of Temple will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 7th at St Luke’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Ekeocha officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 pm Friday, April 6th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with a rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Mrs. Alblinger died Tuesday, April 3rd surrounded by her family. She was born January 10, 1936 in Leggett, Texas to James Laird and Mary DeShazo Laird. She married Claude Alblinger on July 26, 1957. Peggy and Claude owned and operated Marek Drug in Temple for 20 years. She attended Lilly Jolly School of Nursing in Houston and worked as a registered nurse at Santa Fe and Scott and White Memorial Hospitals until her retirement. She was a member of St Luke’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death in 1999 by her husband. Survivors are two sons, Gregory Alblinger and James Alblinger and wife Sherry all of Temple, a daughter Leigh Pickens and husband Toby of Allen, Texas, a sister Bobbie Perkins and husband Jim of Georgetown and four grandchildren, Whitney Alblinger, Rachel Alblinger, Mason Pickens and Dylan Pickens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or St. Luke’s Catholic Church.
