Patricia Vacek Carpenter

Graveside services for Patricia (Pat) Vacek Carpenter will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville. Mrs. Carpenter died Saturday in a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Temple, July 13, 1933 to Emil F. Vacek and Eleanora Psencik Vacek. She graduated from High School and attended the University of Houston and took secretarial courses in Austin. She lived in Smithville and Houston before moving to Temple fifty six years ago. She was a substitute teacher for Temple and Troy Schools. She married Edwin M. Carpenter in 1964. He preceded her in death January 24, 2011. Survivors include two sons Michael E. Carpenter and his spouse Nancy of Rosebud, and Chris Carpenter and his spouse Abbie Dawson of Salado; grandchildren Tyler Carpenter, Austin Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter and Dylan Carpenter; step grandchildren Scott Morgan and his spouse Theresa, Ryan Brazille and his spouse Abigail and step great grandchildren Elizabeth Morgan and McKinley Morgan. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with Rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
