Pamela Dianne (Barnes) Beeson of Temple, TX, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2025. She passed away peacefully during her afternoon nap. Known affectionately as Pam, she faced significant challenges in her final years, enduring over 50 surgeries following a workplace fall, as well as battling a heart attack and cancer.
Born on May 16, 1950, in Temple, TX, Pam cherished her upbringing alongside her father, Theron Barnes, her mother, Wilma (Quinn) Barnes, her brother Butch, and her sister Sue. She often reminisced about her childhood in a smaller Temple, recalling the old dirt roads that have since transformed into bustling four-lane highways and the locations of family homes that have long since vanished.
Pam was educated within the Temple Independent School District. She married Danny Durr Sr. and welcomed three children: Danny Durr Jr. (Joey), Jenny Durr, and Brandy Durr, who tragically passed away at birth. After their separation, Pam met David Beeson in June 1983, and they married on April 21, 1984. Together, they blended their families, and Pam embraced her role as a loving stepmother to David's three children: Barry Fox, Bryan Beeson, and Bria Beeson, bringing her total to five children to care for and nurture.
Pam's work life began at Dairy Queen during her teenage years, and she dedicated over 20 years to Albertsons in both Temple and Baton Rouge, LA. She then spent more than a decade at the VA Hospital, providing compassionate care to patients with Alzheimer's disease. Although she never served in the military, Pam supported David throughout his service, moving from post to post for over 15 years, living in various cities including Temple, Baton Rouge, El Paso, San Antonio, and San Angelo.
While raising five children was her primary focus, Pam found joy in playing bingo, often at the American Legion on 25th Street. She was a devoted member of Memorial Baptist Church in Temple, TX.
Pam had countless friends, but her bond with her best friend, Sandra Jones, who stood by her side for over 60 years, was truly special.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Beeson, and her children: Danny Durr Jr. (Joey) in Temple, TX, Bryan Beeson in Irvine, CA, Jenny Durr in Temple, TX, and Bria Beeson in Friendswood, TX. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Dylan Durr and Caitlin Durr in Huntsville, AL, Jessica Durr and Christopher Durr in Temple, TX, Luke Gittin in Friendswood, TX, and Brittin Beeson in Irvine, CA, as well as her great-grandchildren, Liam Durr, Mila Durr, and Cloie Durr in Huntsville, AL.
She was predeceased by her parents, Theron and Wilma Barnes; her former husband, Danny Durr Sr.; her daughter, Brandy Durr; and her stepson, Barry Fox.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, located at 3110 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76504. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Baptist Church, 6161 S 5th St, Temple, TX 76502. A committal service will follow at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.
