Mrs. Rhodes was born in Marshall to William Riley Phillips and Minnie Mae Clements Phillips. She married Julius Frank Rhodes July 17, 1942. He preceded her in death. She attended Secretarial School at Tyler Jr. College. She lived in Columbus for fifty years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus. She had worked as a secretary for a Savings and Loan Institution. She was a member of D.A.R., D.R.T., U.D.C., and the Colorado Co. Historical Society. Survivors include two sons Robert Stephen Rhodes and his wife Pamela of Temple and Joe Jeffrey Rhodes and wife Sheryl of Wharton, two brothers Edward Wesley Phillips of Elm Mott and William Marshall Phillips of Irving, grandchildren Robert Shawn Rhodes and wife Kelly of Temple, Erin Elizabeth Rhodes Jeanes and husband Danny of Temple and Kasey Rhodes of Wharton.
