It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael Benavidez, a beloved member of the community, who passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael Alan Benavidez was born on December 20, 1963 in Odessa, Texas to Martin Benavidez and Carolyn Anderson Benavidez. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1982 and married Debbie Maddox on February 27, 1999 in Austin, Texas.
After retirement from Orkin & Spectrum Michael continued his passion in helping others by becoming an EMT with AMR in Temple, a responsibility he held close to his heart. He was also welder, an avid collector, loved fishing, hunting, and sports, namely the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas A&M Aggies.
Sadly Michael was preceded in death by his son, Martin Benavidez.
In addition to his wife, Debbie Benavidez, Michael will be deeply missed by survivors to include his parents Martin and Carolyn Benavidez, daughter, Haley Negron and husband Aaron; daughter, Sarah Benavidez; daughter, Brooke Moglia and husband Mark; son, Stephen Hoxworth; brother, Scott Benavidez and wife Tami, sister, Jill Cavanaugh and husband Brian; and ten grandchildren, Noelle, Zackary, Kourtney, Jaden, Cruz, Zane, Aundrea, Abram, Adrian and Miles.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4:00pm Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the funeral home.
