Mary N. Wofford

Mary Nell Wofford, age 84 of Temple, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at a local care center. The family will receive visitors from 10-12:00pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later time.

Mary Nell Wofford was born on August 13, 1939 in Temple, Texas to the late Sterling Cecil Mitchell and Marian Alice Elza Mitchell. She attended schools in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1957. She worked for the USDA Rural Development retiring in 2011. Mary Nell was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Wofford and wife Melisa of Temple and James Wofford and wife Connie of Burnet; a sister, Jeane Allison of Marble Falls; granddaughters, Megan Welch and husband Mitchell of Troy and Nicole Wofford of Temple; three great grandsons, Haegen, Hudson and Hayzen Welch of Troy and a niece, Lori Lastly and family of Burnet.
