Marjorie R. Harris

Marjorie R. Harris, age 87, of Temple, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at her home in Temple. She was born on May 13, 1936 in Temple, the daughter of Carl David and Linnie Mae (Nichols) Rowe.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:00am at the funeral home followed by burial at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Marjorie was a graduate of Temple High School (1954), Scott and White School of Professional Nursing (1957), and Temple College (1973). On August 11, 1978 she married James A. Harris. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for the US Department of Veteran’s Affairs Department of Medicine and Surgery for 30 plus years, retiring in 1991.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Paula Dees Johnson of Temple, Vicki Thornal of Temple, Lisa Dees of Morgan’s Point, and Holly Thornal, Jr of Temple, 7 grandchildren, Stephen, Justin, P.J., Jacob, Amber, Eric, Derrick, and Cory, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers David Rowe of Temple and Kenneth Rowe of Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, and her parents Carl and Linnie Rowe.
