Maria Noe Bodden went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 4, 2016. She was 93 years old. Maria was born in San Juan Jalisco, Mexico to Casimiro and Maria Ines Cardenas on September 17, 1922. She was the eldest of 8 brothers and sisters.
She lived most of her adult life in Galveston, Texas and was a resident of Temple, Texas at the time of her death. She was a long time member of La Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana in Galveston.
Maria Noe was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who made her family the main focus of her life. She worked many years in the food service industry developing her wonderful culinary skills until the time of her retirement in 1985.
Her passion and ability for cooking, gardening, sewing, and crochet filled many happy hours as she created beautiful handiwork for her many loved ones. Her spectacular crochet and knitted baby blankets were a work of love bestowed to her many grandchildren and are treasured keepsakes.
Maria Noe is survived by her children, Eladio Chavez (Yvonna) of Humble, Martha A. Haynes (Lorenzo) of Temple, Nora A. Gill (Kenneth) of Victoria, Maria Elena Yingst (Jason) of Germany; cherished step-children, Annie Peterson (Lloyd) of Colorado Springs, CO, Charles A. Bodden Jr. and Vicky White of New York State and William S. Bodden of North Carolina. She was blessed by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Maria Rangel; brothers, Rosendo Cardenas and Abel Cardenas, and numerous nieces and nephews all of California and Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Bodden Sr. and beloved son Rudolf V. Alvarado at the tender age of 14 months.
Graveside services and interment will be at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers-donations may be made to a charity of choice.
