

Margaret Louise Cason, 83, of Temple, died Friday, July 30, at AlzCare Temple. Graveside services will be private in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kathy Forschner officiating. A Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Temple.
She was born in Brenham on March 25, 1927, to John and Louise Roensch Mikeska. She married Robert Cason on Aug. 9, 1952, at her family home in Wesley, Texas. She was a graduate of Baylor University and began her career as a laboratory technician. After earning her teaching certificate, she taught science at Whittier Junior High in San Antonio. In her retirement, she was active in her church and several teacher organizations.
Survivors include her two daughters Patricia Naomi Smith of Temple and Karen Cason Murphy of Prescott, Arizona; her four grandchildren Naomi Reyes, Dr. Rebekah Haynes, Benjamin Smith, and Cason Murphy; and her three great-grandchildren Abigail Reyes, Jacob Reyes, and Abram Haynes. Honorary pallbearers include sons-in-law Dr. Randall Smith and Dr. Terry Murphy, grandsons-in-law Matthew Reyes and Benjamin Haynes, and nephews John Mikeska, Charles Mikeska, and Ray Rodenbeck.
Memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or the charity of choice.
