Loretta was born on November 26, 1962 in Temple, Texas. She spent her childhood in Rogers where she developed life-long friendships she so fondly cherished. At the ripe age of 12 she was introduced to her soulmate. Loretta and Ricky married on June 12, 1982 and began their journey together as husband and wife. They welcomed their daughter, Jessica, in October of 1988. Loretta loved spending time with family and friends, shopping, and going to the movies.
She graduated from McLennan Community College in the early 1990’s and became a Registered Radiology Technologist. For the last 14 years of her career she was with Austin Radiological Association. She loved her job and exuded so much passion for her patients—many followed her to different ARA locations because of the kindness and care she showed them.
Loretta went to be with the angels on March 12, 2019. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by close loved ones. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and was not able to come out of the fight on top. While she may have lost the battle, she won the war as she can now rest in eternal life.
Loretta was a vivacious woman who lit up any room she entered with her beautiful smile and magnetic personality. She could strike a conversation with just about anyone. May we remember her signature red lipstick, a purse on her arm and a Diet Coke in hand (probably in a Sonic cup). Although her presence is no longer, she will live in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her father Jesse (Big Daddy) Gloria, her grandmother, Janie Gloria, and niece, Meghan Tkach. She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky of Temple and their daughter Jessica of San Antonio. She is also survived by her brother Julian Gloria and wife Linda, of Arlington, sisters Lisa Tkach and husband Todd, of Dallas, and Laura Patterson of Temple. She leaves behind a long list of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation and rosary will be held Sunday evening, March 17, at 6:00 pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Monday, March 18, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple, followed by a burial service at Rogers Cemetery in Rogers.
Dad and I would like to take an opportunity to thank everyone who has been there for us the last few months - you have been a huge blessing and we are forever grateful.
