Funeral services for Lela Mae Sypert, 86, of Temple will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Allen officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Sypert died Saturday at her residence. Mrs. Sypert was born July 24, 1924 in Hillister, Texas to Dewey H. Tolar and Rosie Lee Shepherd Tolar. She married George Sypert May 26, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1993. She moved to Temple from Rogers in 1956. She was a Certified Medical Technologist and was supervisor of the Histology Department in the laboratory of the V.A. Hospital. She retired after 33 years of service. She was a former member of the American Womens Business Association and the A.S.C.P. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by two brothers John Tolar and Dewey H. Tolar and one sister Mildred Hill. Survivors include three sons George Sypert Jr. of Colorado Spring, Colorado, David Sypert of Abilene and Rogers and Raymond Sypert of Temple; three brothers Raymond Tolar of Cleveland, Glenn Tolar of Deer Park and Carl Gene Tolar of Deer Park; one sister Bettie Lee Armstrong of Canyon Lake; six grandchildren Damon Sypert, Richard Sypert, Brian Sypert, Mark Sypert, Abby Sypert and Sarah Sypert and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Scott & White Hospice. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
