Mass of Christian Burial for LaVerne Eleanora Hoelscher, 91, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Cyclone. Mrs. Hoelscher died Friday in a Temple Living Center. Mrs. Hoelscher was born June 19, 1926 in Cyclone to Wilbert L. Girndt and Leona Geistman Girndt. She graduated from Rosebud High School. She married Lewis Hoelscher July 6, 1948. He preceded her in death July 3, 2009. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and St. Luke Catholic Church Women’s Society. She was a homemaker and worked for Joyce Kasberg Catering Service. She also worked for St. Mary’s School Cafeteria and for Scott and White. She retired in 1998. Mrs. Hoelscher was also preceded in death by one son Floyd Hoelscher and her brother Hulen Girndt. Survivors include four sons Kenneth Hoelscher of Heidenheimer, Michael Hoelscher of Morgan’s Point, Douglas Hoelscher and his wife Lisa of Temple and Bruce Hoelscher and his wife Laurie of Cedar Park, daughter-in-law Patrice Hoelscher of Staten Island, New York; two sisters Corene Woods of Mustang, Oklahoma and Lera Mae Matous of Rockdale; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
