Kay graduated from Salado High School in 1972 where she excelled at basketball. She worked for some time at Woolworth in Temple, Texas. She went on to drive a school bus for Temple ISD for many years. She also had a stint as a DJ for a local radio station and she rounded out her work life as real estate agent in the Temple area. Kay made lifelong best friends during her various careers. She cherished her friends who became family to her.
Her favorite role was that of being a mom. She was devoted to her children. She was strong and tireless and always striving to make everything better. She was the class mom, the coach and the chauffeur and she cherished every minute of it. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when one of her children needed her - offering support, guidance and wisdom. She had an abundance of love in her heart that she continued to share with each of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Hilarie Schuetze of Temple, Karly Tindell and husband Cody of Little River-Academy, Kayla Roberts and husband Greg of Heidenheimer, Jason Schuetze and wife April of Lott, and Bo Popelka of Little River-Academy, grandchildren, Ashley Arredondo and husband Frankie, Austin Ramos, Jason Ramos, Jr., Julia Ramos, Lyla Tindell, Leighton Tindell, Blaze Roberts, Blaine Roberts, Kinzley, Kaylen Roberts, Jackson Schuetze, and Alexa Schuetze, and great-grandchildren, Trenton Arredondo, Bryson Arredondo, Mason Arredondo, Amina Ramos, Ezekiel Ramos, Jayah Ramos, Jayde Ramos, Janelle Ramos, and Mia Ramos. Kay is also survived by her brothers Ricky Raven of Vidalia, LA, Billy Nelson of Winnsboro, LA, Kenneth Dyer of Lampasas, Dan Williams of Burnet, and a sister Stacie Driver of Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Dale Schuetze and Frank Popelka, her mother Mazie Magee Williams, a brother Andy Williams and mother-in-law Freida Popelka.
