Julie Caron Keever

Julie Caron Cox Keever, age 52 of Moody, died Sunday, June 24, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Joe Loughlin officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Julie was born on December 8, 1965 in Temple, Texas to Thomas S. Cox and Mary Anne Woodliff Cox. She graduated from Temple High School in 1984. Julie received her bachelor’s degree from Ashford University. On October 13, 1984, she married Jim Keever in Temple, Texas. Julie lived in many places after marriage and returned to Moody, Texas in 2010 and lived there until her death. She taught public school at the numerous places she and Jim lived and also taught at Christ Church School in Temple and at Western Hills Elementary in Temple. She also was CDC Director at Joan Pirtle Early Childhood Development Center in Belton. Julie was a member of First Baptist Church of Temple where she loved singing with the choir and praise team. Julie also loved her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Anne Cox in 2013.

Julie is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jim Keever of Moody; two sons, Chris Keever and wife Jessica of Temple and Andrew Keever of Moody; two sisters, Claire Anne Copeland and husband Bruce of Willow Grove and Mary Elaine Smith of Temple; two grandchildren, Edward and Charlotte Keever; and her father, Tommy Cox of Moody, Texas.

Memorials may be given in Julie’s name to the Choir Department of First Baptist Church of Temple, 8015 W. Adams Ave., Temple, Texas 76502.
