Juan Torres, Sr.

Juan Torres, Sr., age 74 of Temple, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 30th at Higher Power Ministries with Pastor Rudie Diaz officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, July 29th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.

Mr. Torres was born May 25, 1947 in Robstown to Felipe and Maria Torres. He married Sulema Ayala on February 2, 1967 in Corpus Christi. They have been residents of Temple since 1998. He worked in maintenance for many years having worked for the City of Robstown, Belton ISD and Texas Workforce Commission. He was a member of Higher Power Ministries in Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Sulema Torres, five sons, Juan Torres, Jr., Michael Torres , Arturo Torres and wife, Mireya, Jamie Torres and wife, Janie and Jesse Torres and wife, Mayra all of Temple, 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Felipe Torres, Jr. and wife, Rita of Parker, Arizona and one sister, Celia Escobar of El Paso.
