John D. Kucker

John D. Kucker, age 59, of Temple died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at his residence. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 13, at First Baptist Church of Temple with Dr. Martin Knox officiating and Gary Anthony ministering in music. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be 6:00 - 7:30 PM Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Kucker was born on June 21, 1950 in Cleburne to J. D. and Nell Kucker. He served in the U. S. Army for 23 years retiring as a sergeant first class. He then worked for Bell County for 16 years retiring in 2007. He was a very dedicated Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Temple. John enjoyed playing the guitar and singing gospel music and fishing. He loved his family very much. Survivors include his wife, Minella (Minnie) Kucker of Temple, one son, Randall and daughter-in-law, Jessica and one daughter, Sarah and son-in-law, Todd, one grandson, Ian and three granddaughters, Marley, Genevieve and Brooklyn. Also surviving is one brother, Robert (Bob) Kucker and wife, Lynn of Buna and three sisters, Linda Sleeper of Forney, Carolyn Flournoy and husband, James of Forney and Sonja McCollum and husband, Mack of Rowlett and numerous nieces and nephews.
