Jewel Etta Rogers, age 87 of Temple, died Sunday, June 28, 2015 in a local care center. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 1st at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers was born August 3, 1927 in Temple to Oscar Robert and Annie Gazelle Williams Myles. She was a graduate of Temple High School and had lived in Temple all of her life. She married Thelbert D. Rogers on August 17, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2002. She was a member of Heights Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Judy Rogers and twin granddaughters. Survivors include daughter, Bambi Hester and husband, Jim of Salado, granddaughter, Krista Jones and husband, Sammy of Rogers, grandson, Greg Tiffin of New Braunfels and four great-grandchildren, Cole, Taylor and Jake Jones and Mia Tiffin. Memorial donations may be made to Churches Touching Lives for Christ.
