Jerry Allen Phillips

Jerry Allen Phillips, 62, of Temple died Monday August 20, 2012 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 25, 2012 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Phillips was born October 4, 1949 in Temple to Gerald D. and Bessie Allison Phillips. He was a graduate of Temple High School in 1968 where he was a letterman in football for the Wildcats. He received his associate degree from Temple College. He was a car salesman having worked for Farris Pontiac, Tranum Auto, and Don Ringler Autos having retired in 2009. Jerry was a Baptist and a member of the Woodman of the World. He is survived by a cousin, Barbara Jean Eaton of Temple and several other cousins and many dear friends including Larry Hess. Pallbearers will be Larry Hess, Dick Jarma, B.J. Ledger, Larry Rose, Boyd Nichols, Lovic Baugh, Bobby Lawrence, and Doc Tidwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be M.H. Hill and Nick Gandy. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
