Jeanette Warton

Jeanette Warton, 85, of Temple died Tuesday February 24, 2009 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 27, 2009 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Parker officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. Mrs. Warton was born November 20, 1923 in St. Marys, West Virginia to Oliver Jackson and Nora Blanche Reed Mercer. She was raised and educated in Valley View, Texas where she graduated from High School. She received her nursing degree from Wichita General Hospital in Wichita Falls. Mrs. Warton was an anesthetist trained at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. She retired from St. Paul Hospital in Dallas. She married Joe Noah Warton on March 1, 1946 in Electra. They were longtime residents of Odessa, Mr. Warton died July 28, 1968. She married Rudy Valentino in 1997. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Temple for several years. Survivors include her husband, Rudy Valentino of Temple; two daughters, Pam Rhodes and husband Steve of Temple and Robin Shelton of Woodway; four grandchildren, Shawn Rhodes and wife Kelly of Temple, Erin Jeanes and husband Daniel of Temple, Ben Maxwell of Fredericksburg, and Jordan Meserole and wife Allison of College Station; two great-grandchildren, Riley Rhodes and Faith Jeanes. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Waco or Temple Humane Societies or to your charity of choice.
