Janet Carol Avery, age 76, of Temple, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at a local hospital. She was born on January 25, 1948 in Temple, Texas the daughter of U.J., Jr and Mary Lucille (Griggs) Baugh.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am at Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church, 2497 W FM 93 Temple, Texas 76502. Burial will follow at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.
Jan was a graduate of Temple High School, graduated from Southwestern Dental School and went on to work as a dental hygienist and worked in EEG department at Scott and White. However, her favorite roll was being mom and grandmother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons!
Jan is survived by her husband Bob Avery of Temple, sons, Jason Matthew Avery and wife Kacie of Joaquin, Texas and Jonathan Mark Avery of Temple, grandchildren, Britt Avery and wife Ashlyn of Temple, Heston Avery of Grandview, Idaho, and Kyleigh, Kaitleigh, and Kinsleigh Avery all of Joaquin, Texas, and great-grandchildren Jason Avery of Temple, and Brantly Taylor of Academy.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Brian Jay Baugh.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the Taylor’s Valley Children’s REACH Building fund would be appreciated.
