Glenda J. Chapman

May 23, 1955 - April 24, 2023

On April 24, 2023 Glenda received her wings and joined her loved ones in the afterlife. Glenda was born in Port Arthur, Texas to George and Frances Davis on May 23, 1955. She married her beloved husband, James “Jim” Chapman, in Temple, Texas on September 12, 1975.

Our wonderful Glenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She always lit up a room with her fiery personality and unconditional love. She enjoyed reading her books, solving word searches, and doing jigsaw puzzles. However, her most favorite pastime was spending precious moments with her grandchildren. She loved her family more than anything and was so proud of the life that she and her husband Jim had built for them. Glenda knew how to persevere through tough times and soak in the good times.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband, James “Jim” Chapman of Troy; one son, James Chapman and wife Karen Chapman of Rogers; three daughters, Melba Chapman of Troy, Martha Chapman of Troy, Vicky Kroos and wife Maria Kroos of Temple, and Grandchildren; Breanna(27) Kristian(20) Shylee(19) Justin(19) Dartanyn(18) Steven(17) Austin(16) Zane(15) Braden(15) Koalsyn(8).

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and George Davis; two brothers, George “Shag” Davis, Claude Davis; two sisters, Mary Croteau, Melba Davis; and one son, John Chapman.

A memorial service is planned to be held for Glenda on May 23, 2023 with time and location to be determined at a later date.

Glenda is dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. However, we take great comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing with her loved ones in the afterlife.
