George William Reeves passed from this life into eternity at his home in Temple, Texas on July 27th, 2022. George was born on January 11, 1945 in Lepanto, AR to Elbert Reeves, Jr. and Jessie Vaughn Reeves. George joined the Army at 17 and retired in February 1984 with 22 years active duty, serving as a drill instructor and retiring as a First Sgt. He served two tours in Viet Nam and was awarded two Purple Hearts and Bronze Star with V Device. He loved his God, his family and his country. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting by an open fire. Left to Mourn him is his wife of 59 years, Juanita Bordelon Reeves. He liked to say of her that he had a Cajun and wasn’t afraid to use her. George’s greatest honor was to love and serve his Lord and Savior in Pastoral ministry. Missing him always will be his wife, his children; Nita Libersky (Lynn), Melissa Cook and husband Kenny, his grandchildren, Amanda Moll and husband Daniel, Terry Ojeda and wife Nicole, Heather Lutz and husband Brady, Joshua Judy and Sylvia, Hailey Libersky and 16 great-grandchildren, his sisters Martha Cox and husband Don, Bessie Alexander and husband Bill, brothers, Richard Reeves and wife Sylvia and Wesley Reeves and wife Darla. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia. Mourning him also are his sister in love Carolyn Anderson and husband Joseph and brothers in law James Bordelon and wife Darlene and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service for George will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Taylor's Valley Baptist Church, Temple, Texas. Following the memorial service will be a military graveside at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
