Frank J. Zarosky, 82 of Academy died Monday, June 22, 2009 in a local living center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Ranjan Cletus as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Zarosky was born September 30, 1926 in Burlington to Matthew and Antonia (Rozenos) Zarosky. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Konarik on October 9, 1956 in Granger. They have been residents of Academy for the past 52 years. After completing his military service, he was employed as a Fire Fighter for the City of Temple. He worked as a self employed carpenter. Also, he was an insurance adjuster for RVOS Insurance and traveled the state of Texas. He retired in 1992 as a carpenter for the V.A. Hospitals in Temple and Waco. He was a lifelong rancher and farmer who enjoyed working with livestock. Mr. Zarosky was a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge 47 in Seaton, a lifetime member of KD (Katolickey Delnik) and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for over 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Zarosky of Academy; two daughters, Renee Johnson and her husband Michael of Edmond, Oklahoma, Monica Navarrette and her husband Bob of Temple and one granddaughter, Nicole Navarrette of Temple. Honorary pallbearers are: Eugene Bartek, Edward Bartek, Larry Strmiska, Fernando Trevino, Roderick Hutka, and Glen Allen Hutka.
