Fernando S. Valdez

Funeral services for Fernando S. Valdez, 82, of Belton will be 12:00 pm Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Full Gospel Holiness Church, 1709 S. MLK Dr. in Temple. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery. Pastor Joe Williams will officiate.

Mr. Valdez passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 in a Temple hospital.

Fernando was born May 14, 1934 in Lavernia, Texas to Fredericko and Maria Valdez. He worked as a truck driver with various industries most of his life. After retirement, he worked as a school crossing guard for the Belton ISD.

He is survived by his wife, Aurora Valdez of Belton; three sons, Robert Valdez, Mario and Yvonne Valdez, and Oscar and Gloria Valdez, all of Belton; two daughters, Francis and Elroy Martinez, all of Belton, and Yolanda and Jesse Miranda, of Red Oak, TX; two sisters, Veva Hernandez of Lubbock and Lupe Sosa of Amarillo, 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Temple.
