Fannie "Marie" Knowles 91 formerly of Fannett, Texas passed away on March 29, 2022 in Temple, Texas. She was born September 3, 1930 to Lillian and Clifton Ebarb in Zwolle, Louisiana. She grew up in Louisiana. She met James Carl Knowles while working in Leesville, Louisiana and married him on November 22, 1950. In the following years she became a mother to three children, one daughter and two sons. The family resided in Port Arthur, Texas and after retirement moved to Fannett, Texas. Marie was devoted mother and her life was dedicated to loving and caring for family and devotion to God. She enjoyed 22 years as an Elementary school teacher in Bridge City, Texas. She experienced three trips to Eastern Europe as an Associate in Missions. The highlight of one of the trips to Israel was being Baptized in the Name of Jesus in the Jordan River and placing names of family members in the Wailing Wall. The main event of her life was receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost early in her young adult life. God blessed her family and many members received this experience. Marie's prayer was that she will be reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. Marie was blessed to have several life long friends and church members who have shown friendship and concern through the years. Marie was known for her genuine friendliness towards others and sharing her beliefs in her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Even in her later years with the long battle with cancer, she never missed an opportunity to witness to those she met. She never complained of her discomfort, but chose to live by Faith until the end of her earthly journey. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Lillian Ebarb, husband James (Jim) Carl Knowles, and son, Timothy Carl Knowles. Survivors are her daughter, Sharon Knowles, of Temple, Texas, son James Mark Knowles and wife Tammye of Groves, Texas brother, Clifton Ebarb, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, sister, Laverne McNulty of Orangefield, Texas, sister, Elaine Tsitrelis and husband George of Pflugerville, Texas and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her final thoughts to those who remember her are: Always remember to follow the Golden Rule: Live you life first to obey God and second, to be kind to your fellow man. The true and only plan of Eternal Salvation is found in Acts Chapter 2 verses 38 and 39. Burial was held on April 6, 2022 at 2:30pm at Zwolle City Cemetery, Zwolle, Louisiana. A memorial service will be planned at a later date at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, Fannett, Texas.
