Ernest Montez Contreras Jr.

Ernest Montez Contreras Jr., age 64, of Temple, Texas passed away on Thursday September 13, 2018. Ernest was born November 1, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to Ernest Montez Contreras Sr. and Rosa Reid. Ernie was raised in Florence, AZ until the age of 18 when he joined the US Army. He honorably retired from military service after 20 years of service in 1993. He joined the Texas Department of Public Safety, continuing his public service as a Communication Specialist. Ernie retired from TX DPS in 2015.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Rosa Contreras. Ernie is survived by his loving wife Susie Contreras and his three children Landon, Joseph and Nicole, brothers, Timothy, Kenneth and Brian, and nieces, Miranda and Amanda. A graveside service for Ernest will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
