Elizabeth Maxine Honeycutt, 94, passed away comfortably October 24, 2023, at a Spring, Texas nursing home. She was born December 19, 1928, in Rogers, Texas, the daughter of Arthur M. Moore and Carmen Irene (Robinson) Moore.
Elizabeth graduated from Temple High School, Class of 1946. Following graduation, she worked in the banking industry where she met her sweetheart Wayne Honeycutt, and they married in 1948. After they married, Elizabeth worked many years in the retail industry. Elizabeth and Wayne lived in Temple, Texas and celebrated 68 years of marriage before he passed away in 2016.
Elizabeth was an avid gardener and spent many hours each year on her favorite outdoor hobby. She and her husband also enjoyed cattle farming and spent time maintaining a herd of cattle throughout the years on the family farm that they owned and loved. Elizabeth was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Temple for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wayne. She is survived by her son, Rick Honeycutt and his wife Carol of Rochester Hills, MI; daughter Melody Wann and her husband, James of Temple, TX; grandchildren Bradley Honeycutt of Rochester Hills, MI, Christopher Honeycutt of Davidson, NC, Tiffany Moffett of The Woodlands, TX, and Nicholas Wann of The Woodlands, TX; 15 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Those who wish to remember Elizabeth in a special way may make gifts in her memory to First Methodist Church, Temple, TX or the charity of your choice.
