A private family graveside service will be held.
She was born on September 11, 1922 in Holland, Texas the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Mae Dusek. She graduated from Temple High School and Texas Woman’s University. After graduating college she was employed by Temple Daily Telegram as a graphic artist. She provided fashion ads for downtown department stores.
Dorothy met and later married Donald Troy Keown from La Fayette, Georgia in 1946. After Donald’s retirement from the Veteran’s Administration, together they started Don’s Hand Crafted Fishing Lures business. These unique fishing lures were in demand all over Texas and Oklahoma. She enjoyed her family, fishing, art, dancing, baking, and watching sports on T.V. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Aggies fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Bruce Keown and a sister Mary Cain.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Karen Keown and Susan Brown, granddaughter Lindsay Mastroeni and husband Diego, great-granddaughters Hayden and Kennedy, a step grandson Steven Drake and family, and beloved nieces and nephews.
