Doris Marie (Hill) Watts of Belton passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. Doris was born August 28, 1924 in Moody, TX. To Mentor and Mae Hill. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Clennon Guy “Slim” Watts, her son Clennon Guy Watts, Jr and two grandchildren, Travis Knight and Sheila Watts. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Troy Hill.
Doris was a nursing assistant at the Temple V.A. Hospital, and she retired early to care for her husband.
Mrs. Watts is survived by seven children, Shirley Drake of Magnolia, TX, Louise Pratt of Troy, TX., Sherry Preston of Salado TX, Rita Mayfield of Belton, TX, Eddie Wayne Watts (Vickie) of Belton, TX., Richard Earl Watts (Teresa) of Belton, TX., and Tricia “Tedo” Watts of Belton TX. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Temple on Wednesday, January 19, 11 am-1 pm. Funeral services will follow, at 1 pm, in the Chapel officiated by Rev. Jack Husung, Sr.
Doris’s final resting place will be next to her husband Clennon at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple, Texas.
