Delma Faye Whitley, age 80, of Temple died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at home in Temple surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 29 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Eddie Humphrey and Dr. Ron Milne officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 28 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Whitley was born on September 3, 1928 in Enloe to Ray Eldon and Edris Delma (Burns) Lamb. Her family settled in Baytown in 1938 and she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1947. While in Baytown, she worked in accounting offices at SMS Industries and Gulf Coast Hospital. Faye and her husband, Charles Weldon Whitley, retired to the Cold Springs area in 1983 and moved to Temple in July, 1999. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Eldon Lamb, her stepfather, Harve W. "Swede" Dulaney, her mother, Edris Delma Dulaney and her brother, Wendell Lamb. Survivors include her husband, Charles Weldon Whitley of Temple, two sons, Rick Blystone and wife, Suzy, Rodney Blystone and wife, Lydia all of Baytown, a stepson, Charles Russell Whitley and wife, Nina of Austin, three stepdaughters, Jennifer Wright and husband, Lonnie, Lisa Muntz and husband, Bill and Elizabeth Whitley Petty all of Temple. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother, Clauis Lamb and wife, Edith of Palestine. In lieu of flowers, the Whitley family requests that donations be made to Scott & White Hospice, 2401 S. 31st Street, Temple, TX 76508.
